Mumbai, 21 July (HS): Several areas of Mumbai were
inundated as heavy rains lashed suburbs Ghatkopar, Bhandup, Mulund, Chembur,
Gowandi, and Western Mumbai’s Andheri, Bandra, Biriwali, Dahisar, South Mumbai’s
Dadar, King Circle, Lalbag, etc.Since
early morning on Monday, heavy rain started in Mumbai and Konkan regions.
Travellers had to walk through two to three feet of deep water on the road. Road traffic
moved at a snail’s pace, while railway tracks were under water at several stations.
The local trains are running 10 to 12 minutes behind schedule. Heavy
traffic jam was reported on the Western Express Highway, and the Andheri
subway was under water, halting the road traffic. A similar jams were reported
on Boriwali – Bandra road at Santa Cruz, Vile Parley, Andheri, Jogeshwari,
Goregaon, and Malad.
