Lok Sabha adjourns twice after ruckus over


Delhi, 21 July (H.S.): On the first day of the monsoon session, five members of the Rajya Sabha took an oath of allegiance to the Constitution. The ceremony was conducted by Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar at Parliament House on Monday. The newly inducted members included former Union Minister Birendra Prasad Baishya, Kanad Purkayastha, and recently appointed nominees Dr. Meenakshi Jain, C. Sadanandan Master, and Harshvardhan Shringla. The Vice President congratulated them, emphasizing the importance of their contributions to the House.

The session also included tributes for victims of the Pahalgam terror attack and the Air India plane crash, as well as remembrance of former members who recently passed away. Among those remembered were C. Perumal and K Kasturirangan, Ronald Sapa Tlau, Nepaldev Bhattacharjee, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Thennala G Balakrishna Pillai, and Vijaykumar Rupani.

Additionally, the House extended birthday greetings to Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge Laxmikant Bajpai, Rajeev Shukla, and Sangeeta Yadav.
