Dibrugarh (Assam), 21 July (HS): A massive fire incident occurred last night in Majmajia area of Duliajan, Assam. The fire started with an explosion in the gas pipeline of Oil India Limited in front of the main gate of Sonapur Namghar.

As soon as the information was received, several fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and after a lot of effort the fire was controlled. However, even after the incident, natural gas is leaking continuously, due to which there is an atmosphere of panic in the area.

Along with the local police force, the security department of Oil India has also been deployed on the spot. The administration is monitoring the situation and investigation into the causes of the fire has been started.

Local people saw loud noise and flames at the time of the incident, which caused panic. No casualties have been reported in the incident. Detailed information is awaited.
