Delhi, 21 July (H.S.): During the parliamentary monsoon session, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar urged members to foster goodwill and mutual respect among political parties. He emphasized that a vibrant democracy relies on dialogue, not confrontation, and encouraged prioritizing consultation and positive debate.

Dhankhar stressed that political goals should align with national interests and called for a culture of dialogue, urging members to avoid unruly language and personal attacks. He warned that divisive behavior undermines parliamentary dignity and strengthens adversaries. He affirmed that India's historical strength lies in open dialogue and the exchange of ideas, which should guide Parliament's functioning.

Acknowledging the roles of both ruling and opposition parties, he encouraged constructive politics for the nation’s progress, expressing hope that cooperation will make the session beneficial and meaningful.
