Mumbai, 21 July (HS): An Air India plane skidded off

the runway on Monday at Mumbai’s International Airport, as three tyres of the

plane burst. The aircraft was damaged, but the crew and the passengers were

safe.

The accident occurred at 9.27 am when the Air India

Flight AI 2774 A 320 (VT-TYA) skidded immediately after landing. Three tyres of

the aircraft burst. The flight coming from Kochi, Kerala, skidded and reached

the terminal gate safely, but in the wrong manner. The passengers and the crew

were safe, but the engine of the aircraft and the runway were damaged due to an

inappropriate landing.

The emergency teams immediately rushed to the

aircraft and rescued the passengers. The Air India Spokesperson said the safety

of the passengers and the crew was our top priority. The emergency teams were

immediately summoned.
