Chirang (Assam), 21 July (HS): Police action against cyber criminals is continuing in Chirang district. A total of 11 cyber criminals were arrested from Bijni police station area in a special operation that ran from Saturday to late Sunday night.
Police PRO said on Monday that the arrested accused include Afsar Ali (34), resident of Kavatikar, Bijni, Matloob Ali (37) of 1 No. Danshiyapara, Abdul Awal (27), Akher Ali (29), Saddam Hussain (22), Gulab Hussain, Mir Qasim (22) of Farmaishali and Anwar Hussain of Ballamgudi.
The mastermind of this entire cyber crime gang was Anwar Hussain, who was arrested by the police in a raid from Bongaigaon district last night.
The names of the other three accused have not been made public by the police at the moment.
In this operation, the police have seized total three four-wheelers - AS-19W-2999, AS-01QC-0737 and a Hyundai I20 car without number plate. Apart from this, micro ATM machines, ATM cards made in the name of various people, SIM cards and mobile phones have also been recovered.
The investigation of the entire case is ongoing.
