Pune, 02 July (HS): A worker on a construction site

died, while four others were injured as a slab of under under-construction building

collapsed on Sachapeer Street in the Cantonment region of Pune.

The slab collapsed when the workers were installing

wooden planks for the next slab. The deceased has been identified as Shubhankar

Mondol (20), a native of West Bengal. The construction work was in progress

near an old Oasis Hotel when the accident occurred.

The injured have been rushed to the Sassoon

Hospital. An offence against the building contractor and Cantonment Board

officers has been registered.
