Guwahati, 2 July (HS): Sensation spread in the area after a woman's body was recovered in Kharguli area of Guwahati metropolis. Police said on Wednesday that sensation spread in the area as soon as information was received about a woman's body being seen in a closed room in Kharguli area.

The police team reached the spot and recovered the body of the dead woman and sent it to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Vandana Das.

After the primary investigation, a case of murder of the woman by cutting her neck has come to light. Police have registered an FIR in this regard and are investigating the matter accordingly. -------------
