Tamil Nadu Government Takes Action in Sivaganga Custodial Death Case

Chennai, 2 July (H.S.): The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has rescheduled its protest against the Sivaganga custodial death of Ajith Kumar, a temple security guard, to July 6. The protest was initially set to take place on July 3 at the Rajarathinam Stadium in Egmore, Chennai. However, due to a teachers' protest already scheduled at the same venue, the TVK has decided to postpone its protest to July 6.

TVK chief Vijay had announced the protest seeking justice for Ajith Kumar, who died under mysterious circumstances while in police custody. The incident sparked widespread outrage, with several opposition parties, including AIADMK and BJP, also staging protests in Sivaganga. The TVK's rescheduled protest will now take place on July 6 at a different location, with party general secretary N. Anand confirming the details on social media.

The Sivaganga custodial death case has taken a serious turn, with the Tamil Nadu government ordering a CBI investigation and five police personnel arrested in connection with Ajith Kumar's death. The TVK's protest aims to demand justice for the victim and his family, as well as raise concerns about police brutality and accountability.
