New Delhi, July 2 (HS): Union Minister for Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare, and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan will visit Jammu and Kashmir on July 3rd and 4th, 2025. He will conduct high-level meetings and partake in programs focused on agriculture, rural development, and education. On July 3, he will hold a review meeting with senior officials from the Ministry of Agriculture at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar, followed by a meeting of the Consultative Committee on Natural Farming and the National Oilseeds Mission. He will conclude the day with a courtesy meeting hosted by the Lieutenant Governor at Raj Bhavan.
On the second day, he will be the chief guest at the sixth convocation of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology in Srinagar, attended by notable figures, including the Lieutenant Governor and Chief Minister. The ceremony will see 5,250 students receiving degrees, along with the distribution of 150 gold medals and 445 merit certificates.
Post-convocation, Chouhan will visit saffron and apple orchards at the university and engage with horticulture scientists and farmers. He will also meet with ‘Lakhpati Didis’ in Khonmoh village. This visit aims to strengthen sustainable agriculture and rural development initiatives in the region, continuing his efforts to connect with the farming community.
