Mumbai, 02 July (HS): The Maharashtra Government is
firm on extending grants to all the schools in phases. The words ‘permanently
on no grant basis’ were removed in 2009 and several schools started getting
grants thereafter, said Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the Legislative
Council on Wednesday.
Shinde was replying to a call attention motion moved
by Kiran Sarnaik. A meeting in this connection was held on October 10, 2024,
and a Government Resolution was also issued on October 14, Shinde said. Several
schools received grants in 2016, 2018 and later up to 2023. The grants are
being sanctioned in a phased manner, he added.
Minister of State Pankaj Bhoyar said funds for the
next instalment of grants will be made soon.
