Dibrugarh (Assam), 2 July (HS): A serious leakage incident was reported on Wednesday in the pipeline carrying crude oil of Oil India Limited (OIL) near the new bus stand of Hukuta Chariali in Duliajan town of Assam.

According to local sources, crude oil started flowing continuously at a high speed from the pipeline, causing panic in the surrounding area. As soon as the incident was reported, the technical team of OIL reached the spot and started trying to control the situation.

No major damage has been reported so far, but concerns are being raised about the environmental impact. The matter is under investigation.
