Jammu, 2 July (H.S.): Jay Vikas, an IAS officer from Jammu and Kashmir, has been appointed as the first Commissioner of the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation (DMC) in Assam.
A 2021 batch IAS officer, Jay Vikas, who took the charge on June 9, was earlier serving as Co-District Commissioner of North Salmara.
As per an Assam Government order, he will also hold the additional post of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Housing and Urban Affairs, Assam.
The posting followed Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s recent announcement to strengthen the DMC by appointing a full-time IAS officer.
