Parliament and senior Samajwadi Party leader S T Hasan severely denounced on
Wednesday the conduct of some Hindu groups that religiously profiled
establishments along the Kanwar Yatra route. He likened such actions with

Member of Parliament and senior Samajwadi Party leader S T Hasan severely
denounced on Wednesday the conduct of some Hindu groups that religiously
profiled establishments along the Kanwar Yatra route. He likened such actions with terrorism.
Asking
hotel personnel and local merchants to divulge their names and forcing people
to strip to determine their religion is same to what terrorists did in
Pahalgam. Hasan claimed that this is
also a sort of terrorism. He said that
such occurrences are going place openly, while the Uttarakhand government turns
a blind eye. It appears that the state
government is secretly backing these crimes.
In a secular society like India, such behavior is unacceptable. It should be halted, Hasan stated.
Remarks came amid claims that local Hindu
organizations in numerous Uttarakhand cities were purportedly examining the
identity of restaurant employees and targeted those suspected of being
Muslims. According to videos circulating
on social media, volunteers coerced people into proving their religious
affiliation.
