London, July 2 (H.S.): Novak Djokovic, a seven-time Wimbledon champion, progressed to the second round of Wimbledon 2025 by defeating unseeded French player Alexander Muller with a score of 6-1, 6-7(7), 6-2, 6-2. This victory brings Djokovic closer to his goal of winning a 25th Grand Slam title. In the next round, the sixth-seeded Djokovic will face British wild card Dan Evans. Djokovic aims to equal Roger Federer's Wimbledon record and surpass Margaret Court on the all-time Grand Slam champions list.

Post-match, Djokovic expressed confidence, stating he believes he has a chance and has earned his status as a title contender, calling this Grand Slam his most successful in a decade. Djokovic started strong, winning the first set, but Muller fought back in the second set, saving several break points and winning in a tiebreak. After taking a medical timeout for stomach pain, Djokovic rallied back and won the third and fourth sets decisively. Djokovic is prepared for his challenging match against Evans.
