Chennai, 2 July (H.S.): A 29-year-old dentist, Dr. Manikandan, was arrested by the Kancheepuram police for allegedly misbehaving with a 20-year-old college student who visited his dental clinic in Tiruparundhikundram. The incident occurred on Monday, prompting the victim to file a complaint at the Sivakanchi police station.
Following a preliminary inquiry, the police arrested Dr. Manikandan on Tuesday and remanded him in judicial custody. The police said that the dentist tried to misbehave with the girl during her visit to the clinic, which led to the complaint being lodged against him.
The arrest has sent shockwaves through the local community, with many expressing concern over the safety and well-being of patients, particularly women, in medical settings.
