02 July (HS): The deaths of a 20-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman were
discovered hanging from a tree in a village here on Wednesday, according to
authorities.
They
stated the event occurred in Parsauni village, Kushinagar district. Villagers
discovered the bodies on a tree in the middle of sugarcane fields and informed
police and the victims' relatives, they said. A crew from Tamkuhiraj station
went to the location and examined the situation. According to Station House Officer
Sushil Kumar Shukla, the deceased -- Rahul Nishad, son of Asharfi Nishad, and
Aansu, daughter of Ramdev Kushwaha -- were neighbours.
The
killings have aroused several concerns, and the authorities are looking into
both the murder and suicide possibilities, he added. The bodies were
found at around 5 am. Both were hanging from the same tree, with their knees
touching the ground. Blood stains were found near the youth's body, and the
girl had a deep injury mark on her head, SHO Shukla told reporters. He
added that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. We are examining
all evidence and questioning local residents, the officer said, adding
that adequate police presence has been deployed in the area to maintain law and
order.
