Greater
Noida, 02 July (HS): Students of the country can get the opportunity to do
various courses and research from Western Sydney University in Greater Noida
itself. Preparations are on to open a campus of Western Sydney University in
Greater Noida area. On Wednesday, an Australian government delegation reached
Greater Noida. They expressed their desire to open a campus of the university
after meeting with the Authority's CEO NG Ravi Kumar, ACEO Saumya Srivastava
and other officials. The Authority is also ready to provide space for opening
the university campus. A final decision is expected soon from both sides.
The
Australian delegation included Australian Minister and Counsellor (Education
and Research) Australian High Commission George Thivos, Nathaniel Webb, First
Secretary (Education and Research), Australian High Commission, Western Sydney
University Deputy Vice Chancellor and COO Bill Parasiris, Executive Director
Marion Jones, Project Manager Shubham Gupta and Lead Researcher Collaboration
and Partnership South Asia Kopal Chaubey, Senior Policy Advisor (Education and
Research) in Australian High Commission Anu Jain. The delegation reached
Greater Noida Authority at around 11.30 am. Apart from ACEO Saumya Srivastava,
a meeting was held with OSD NK Singh, General Manager Project AK Singh and
other officials from the Authority. The delegation proposed the university to
open a campus in Greater Noida, on which the Authority also agreed to provide
space.
Consent
has been given. After this, the delegation met CEO NG Ravi Kumar and informed
him about their project. The CEO said that Greater Noida has a special identity
as an education hub. There is a lot of scope in the field of education here.
Western Sydney University can play an important role in preparing the youth for
employment by providing training according to the needs of entrepreneurs. The
delegation also praised the infrastructure of Greater Noida and said that a
final decision will be taken soon. Plants were also presented to the members of
the delegation by the ACEO. With the opening of Western Sydney University, the
youth here will get a golden opportunity to do research along with a degree.
During the meeting, senior managers PP Mishra, Ratik and Saurabh Bhardwaj and
representatives of Udyam Mitra were also present.
