Washington, July 18 (HS): U.S. President Donald J. Trump, aged 79, is facing age-related physical challenges, including a nerve disease that has led to swelling in his legs. The White House confirmed this in a statement, noting swelling in the lower legs and injuries on his right hand. Reports indicate that Trump suffers from chronic venous insufficiency, which complicates blood circulation from the legs to the heart. This condition results in blood pooling, causing swelling, pain, and skin changes.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Claire Leavitt remarked that such issues typically arise after the age of 70. Following the circulation of photos showing Trump's swollen legs and hand, speculation emerged online about concealment regarding his health. Levitt clarified that the hand injury stemmed from shaking hands and that the leg swelling is due to a common nerve disease, asserting that it does not hinder Trump's functions.

The White House later shared a letter from Trump's physician, Sean Barbella, confirming that Trump's tests included an ultrasound that indicated chronic venous insufficiency, a condition prevalent among those over 70, while other tests showed no signs of heart failure or kidney damage.
