Delhi, 18 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended a public event in Motihari, Bihar on Friday arriving in a saffron open vehicle adorned with flowers and greeted by enthusiastic chants ifBharat Mata ki Jai & Modi! Modi! He was accompanied by Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and deputy CMs, showcasing NDA unity ahead of the Bihar assembly elections. During his visit, PM Modi unveiled projects worth over Rs 7,200 crore, focusing on enhancing rail efficiency and connectivity. Key projects included automatic signalling installation on the Samastipur–Bachhwara rail line and the doubling of the Darbhanga–Thalwara and Samastipur–Rambhadrapur rail lines, part of a larger initiative valued over Rs 580 crore.

PM Modi also flagged off four new Amrit Bharat trains connecting various regions, including the Rajendra Nagar Terminal to New Delhi and Bapudham Motihari to Anand Vihar Terminal. He distributed keys under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin to 12,000 beneficiaries and allocated over Rs 160 crore to 40,000 beneficiaries.

In his speech,PM Modi emphasized the fast-paced global development, noting that eastern countries are emerging in this race. He articulated a vision for eastern India, aiming for Bihar to achieve developmental status akin to that of Mumbai in the west, and highlighted the need for industrial and tourism development across various regions, like Gaya and Jalpaiguri.

PM Modi stated the commitment to making Bihar a developed state, pointing out that significant progress is being made due to effective governance at both the central and state levels. He contrasted this with the previous Congress and RJD government, which, according to him, failed to support Bihar adequately, receiving only around Rs 2 lakh crore in 10 years. He mentioned that under NDA's governance, Bihar has received much higher developmental funds.

Furthermore, he noted that over 4 crore houses have been built nationwide under the PM Awas Yojana, with about 60 lakh in Bihar, providing vital housing to many families. PM Modi concluded with a rallying cry for the NDA government, reinforcing the momentum of his government's initiatives in Bihar.
