Raipur, July 18 (H.S.) - Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has been detained by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case tied to the liquor scam. Early morning raids were conducted at the residences of Bhupesh and Chaitanya Baghel, with reports indicating Chaitanya was taken to the ED's office in Raipur. Supporters of Bhupesh Baghel protested upon hearing of Chaitanya's detention.
Former media advisor Vinod Verma noted the coincidence that today is Chaitanya's birthday, just as previous raids coincided with Bhupesh's birthday. Meanwhile, Bhupesh Baghel attended the Assembly on the final day of the monsoon session and accused the BJP government of misusing central agencies. He expressed his trust in the judiciary and vowed not to succumb to pressure aimed at undermining him.
