Chennai, 18 July (H.S.) : Indira, the Assistant Commissioner of the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department in Coimbatore, has been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau. The arrest follows allegations that she demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakh to address a revenue issue concerning a private temple.
Officials reported that Indira was apprehended while accepting an initial installment of Rs 1 lakh. She is currently undergoing interrogation at the Anti-Corruption Bureau office as investigations continue. Further details regarding the case are anticipated to emerge.
