Guwahati, 18 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has praised the Sribhumi Police and Assam Police for their success in a major anti-drug operation. According to police sources, 30,000 Yaba tablets have been recovered in this action based on a specific information, which is estimated to be worth around ₹6 crore in the international market.
One accused has been arrested in this connection. Police said that the matter is being thoroughly investigated so that other people associated with this network of narcotics can also be traced.
Congratulating the Assam Police for this action, Chief Minister Sarma said that the government is determined to make the state drug-free.
