Bhubaneswar, 17 July (H.S.): The brother of Soumyashree Bisi, the FM College student who tragically took her own life after allegedly facing mental and sexual harassment by a lecturer, has lodged a complaint with the Bhogarai police station. The complaint targets four individuals who made objectionable posts on social media, hurting the family's sentiments.

The police have taken the complaint seriously and initiated an investigation. Meanwhile, the incident has sparked widespread outrage, prompting the Higher Education department to suspend the college principal and HOD. The police have also arrested the HOD and the college principal in connection with the incident.

It may be noted that Soumyashree succumbed to her injuries at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Monday night, after attempting to self-immolate on campus on July 12. Her last rites were performed in her native village in Bhograi, Balasore district.
