Kolkata, 17 July (H.S.): In a major crackdown, Kolkata Police on Thursday early morning busted an illegal call center operating from the Karaya police station area. A total of 10 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. The police also seized 6 laptops, 18 mobile phones, 2 routers, and other important documents during the raid.

According to police sources, the illegal operation was being run from the fourth floor of a residential building at 3B, Chamru Khansama Lane, under Karaya police station area. Acting on a tip-off, officers from Kolkata Police's Detective Department, with support from local police, conducted the raid in the early hours of Thursday.

The seized electronic devices and documents are currently under examination to determine the nature of activities carried out by the call cente.

All arrested individuals have been taken to central lockup at Lalbazar, the headquarters of Kolkata Police. Further investigation is underway.
