16 July (HS): The process of delimitation for Panchayat elections will start
from July 18. The government has approved the detailed program sent by the
District Panchayati Raj Department. The boundaries of Panchayat wards are
changing due to the expansion of urban areas. The final list will be released
by August 10. Partial delimitation of the territorial constituencies (wards) of
the affected Gram Panchayats, Area Panchayats and District Panchayats is to be
done due to the creation and boundary expansion of Nagar Panchayat, Municipal
Council and Municipal Corporation. A timetable has been issued for receiving
objections, their disposal and publication etc. regarding the determination of
these wards. According to the timetable, the determination of population Gram
Panchayat wise will be done between July 18-22. The preparation and publication
of the proposed list of wards of Gram Panchayat, Area Panchayat and District
Panchayat will be done between July 23 and July 28. Objections on these wards
will be taken between July 29 and August 2. The work of disposal of objections
will be completed between August 3 and August 5. The final list of wards will
be published between August 6 and August 10.
