Guwahati, 16 July (HS): Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has taken a dig at the Assam visit of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and MP and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. He alleged that Rahul Gandhi has talked about sending him to jail in a closed door meeting.

A meeting of the party representatives of the state was held in the capital Guwahati on Wednesday in the presence of Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi. On this, Chief Minister Sarma reacted sharply and said that in the closed door meeting of Congress on political matters in Assam today, Rahul Gandhi has talked about sending him (Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma) to jail.

The Chief Minister shared a post on social media and said, Rahul Gandhi said in the meeting, write it down, Himanta Biswa Sarma will definitely be sent to jail.

The Chief Minister said that Rahul Gandhi has come to Assam to say just this, but unfortunately he forgot that he himself is accused in many criminal cases registered across the country and is currently on bail.

The Chief Minister said sarcastically that my best wishes to Rahul. Enjoy the hospitality of Assam throughout the day.---------
