Shahjahanpur,
16 July (HS): Three people, including a minor, were captured here after police
disrupted a bank robbery attempt early Wednesday, officials said. The incident
occurred at a Punjab National Bank branch on the Shahjahanpur-Jalalabad road
near Kant police station, according to Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi.
The suspects broke into a bank branch and attempted to access a locker when
they were detained, according to SP. Shankar (24) and Ichharam (23) were the
arrested suspects. Police also detained
a 16-year-old child. They were also
found in possession of a firearm. Dwivedi said that the trio targeted the
bank's main entrance, destroying cameras before breaking the shutter's lock to
gain access. Once inside, two of them
attempted to break into a locker thought to hold cash, while one accomplice
kept guard outside.
Our
police patrol patrols this route on a daily basis, and the station house
officer (SHO) passed by approximately 3 a.m. today, according to the official. He
