Ranchi/Bokaro, July 16 (H.S.): On Wednesday morning, a police-Naxalite encounter occurred in Kashitand forest, Lugu hill, Bokaro district. Police shot dead one Naxalite, while a soldier from the CoBRA Battalion sustained injuries and is being airlifted to Ranchi. Intermittent firing continues from both sides, with the encounter happening between Jumra and Lugu hill.

Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh noted that network issues are causing delays in obtaining information about the situation.The complete details will be available after a search operation is conducted. This encounter is on the same hill where, in April, eight individuals, including a high-profile Naxalite, were killed.
