Delhi, 16 July (H.S.): On the second day of official visit to Japan, Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh held meetings with prominent Japanese companies and inaugurated the 16th India Trend Fair 2025 in Tokyo on July 15. The fair serves as a vital platform for Indian textile exporters to connect with Japanese buyers, aimed at enhancing bilateral textile trade.
The Minister met with YKK Corporation's leadership, discussing their plans to expand operations beyond Haryana, and invited them to invest in PM MITRA Parks. Japan's Workman Co, a leader in workwear, showed interest in establishing manufacturing facilities in India under the PM MITRA framework, following a discussion about India's manufacturing ecosystem.
Additionally, discussions with Konica Minolta focused on expanding their operations in India, emphasizing contributions to ESG and sustainability goals. Asahi Kasei Corporation expressed interest in investing in the Make in India for the World initiative.
The day concluded with a roadshow and industry interaction at the Indian Embassy in Tokyo, attended by over 100 industry leaders, including Ambassador Sibi George. Giriraj Singh underscored India's potential as a global textile hub, inviting Japanese companies to join India's textile growth narrative.
