(HS): Commissioner of Police Dr Ravindra Singal initiated a special drive and acted

against illegally installed 575 loudspeakers at religion places in Nagpur

District.

The religious

places that faced action belong to all religions. The number of loud speakers

installed and the number of them removed (in brackets) are – Temples 1125 (280),

Masjid 316 (154), Gurudwara 24 (07), Durgah 87 (17), Church 99 (Zero).

Dr Singal said

the drive will continue till all the illegal loudspeakers are removed. He also

advised the religious places' managing committees to seek prior permission and

maintain the sound below the permissible limits. In case of violation of the

rules, an offence against the committee or trust will be registered.
