16 July (HS): A tree named Maa was organized in the KVK campus under the aegis
of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, SHUATS. Chief guest Dr. Praveen Charan, Director,
Extension Directorate, SHUATS told the farmers about the importance of trees
and fruit trees and their utility. Dr. Mukesh Prem Masih, Scientist-in-Charge,
Krishi Vigyan Kendra explained the importance of trees in the environment and
how trees are useful for human life.
Scientists
of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Dr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. R.P. Singh, Dr. G.P.M. Singh, Dr.
D.S. Chauhan, Dr. Subodh Yadav and Mrs. Nimisha Natarajan addressed the farmers
on environmental awareness in the name of a tree mother during this program.
540 saplings of mango, guava, jamun, drumstick, jackfruit were distributed to
the farmers. And under the massive tree plantation, 100 saplings were planted
by the farmers in the campus of Krishi Vigyan Kendra by the in-charge KVK.
Manoj Tripathi, Jitendra Singh, Sanjeev Pratap Singh, and other staff of KVK
and farmers participated in this program.
