Bankura, 15 July (H.S.) A student named Juhi Kole has been expelled from Bankura Sammilani Medical College after it was revealed that she secured admission using a fake Following the revelation. The college authorities filed a written complaint against her at the Bankura Sadar police station.
According to college sources, Juhi Kole qualified for admission in 2022 through the NEET examination and secured a seat under the ST quota. However, her surname and the caste certificate raised suspicions among college officials. As the certificate had been issued from Jalpaiguri district, the college sent it to the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of that district for verification. A separate request for verification was also made to the Backward Classes Welfare Department.
Recently, both departments confirmed that the caste certificate submitted by Juhi Kole was forged. Following this confirmation, tribal organizations staged protests on the college campus, demanding the immediate expulsion of the student. Facing mounting pressure, the state health department directed the college on Monday evening to remove the student from the institution.
Acting on the directive, the college administration expelled Juhi Kole and lodged an official complaint with the police, accusing her of forgery.
Speaking on the matter, the Principal of Bankura Sammilani Medical College, Panchanan Kundu, said on Tuesday, “She was admitted at the end of 2022. The certificate she submitted appeared suspicious. The health department conducted an investigation, and upon their instruction, the student was removed from the college.”
