Delhi, 15 July (H.S.): Jagat Prakash Nadda, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, conducted the selection of part-time members for the National Medical Commission (NMC), Autonomous Boards, and the Search Committee through a draw of lots in accordance with the National Medical Commission Act, 2019. This process is set for a two-year term, and appointments include ten Part-time Members from State/UT governments, nine from State Medical Councils, and additional members for Autonomous Boards and the Search Committee.

The selected Part-time Members from State/UT governments include representatives from ten states: Gujarat (Dr. Nirja Arun Gupta), Rajasthan (Dr. M K Aseri), Himachal Pradesh (Dr. Surender Kashyap), Andaman & Nicobar Islands (Dr. Mukesh Tripathi), Andhra Pradesh (Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pulala), Mizoram (Dr. Dibakar Chandra Deka), Meghalaya (Prof. P S Shukla), Jharkhand (Prof. (Dr.) Dinesh Kumar Singh), Chandigarh (Dr. Suman), and Madhya Pradesh (Dr. Ashok Khandelwal).

From State Medical Councils, nine Part-time Members were selected: West Bengal (Dr. Sudipta Kumar Roy), Karnataka (Dr. Sharanabasappa S. Karbhari), Nagaland (Dr. George Thira), Chhattisgarh (Dr. Mahesh Kumar Sinha), Tripura (Dr. Kanak Choudhury), Jammu & Kashmir (Dr. Sandeep Dogra), Assam (Dr. Anup Kumar Barman), Manipur (Dr. Simpson Sareo), and Uttarakhand (Dr. Manoj Kumar Verma).

For the Autonomous Boards of NMC, a part-time representative from each medical council was also appointed: Arunachal Pradesh Medical Council (Dr. Jego Ori) for the Under-Graduate Medical Education Board, Odisha (Dr. Santosh Kumar Mishra) for the Post-Graduate Medical Education Board, Haryana (Dr. Manish Bansal) for the Medical Assessment and Rating Board, and Punjab (Dr. Surinder Pal Singh) for the Ethics and Medical Registration Board.

Furthermore, Dr. Sandeep Dogra from Jammu & Kashmir was nominated as the expert for the Search Committee. The selection process maintained transparency with media personnel in attendance.
