Bhubaneswar, 15 July (H.S.): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed deep sorrow over the passing of renowned marathon runner Fauja Singh, who was celebrated as the world’s oldest marathoner. In a heartfelt tribute shared on social media platform X, the Minister hailed Singh’s life as a beacon of inspiration and perseverance.
“Fauja Singh ji was an epitome of unyielding spirit, discipline and resilience. The world’s oldest marathoner, his extraordinary feats on the track inspired people globally in many ways,” Pradhan stated.
Expressing his grief, he added, “Deeply saddened by his passing. It is a big loss for the sporting fraternity. I offer my sincere condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
