Mumbai, 15 July (HS):
Out of the 432 showrooms of Ola Electric Mobility Services, 385 have been
closed, as they had no permission to sale the vehicles. Only 47 showrooms
possessed the required certificate. The information was provided by the State
Transport Commissionerate following a flash survey by all RTOs.
As per the transport
rules a trade certificate is mandatory for maintaining vehicles in a showroom
for sale. Pritpal Singh had lodged a complaint that Ola showrooms are operating
without the trade certificates, following which a survey was carried out. The
showrooms operating without the certificates were closed.
In Maharashtra, Ola
sold 1,31,375 two-wheelers since 2021. In 2025, Ola sold 13,298 two-wheelers.
In India, Ola sold 9,05,815 two-wheelers. During the last financial year more
than 2,44000 two-wheelers were sold by Ola, of which 12 percent vehicles were
sold in Maharashtra. The company can start the showrooms only after procuring
the trade Certificates.
