Delhi, 15 July (H.S.): The indigenously developed Carbon Fibre Foot Prosthesis, named ADIDOC, was unveiled at AIIMS Bibinagar, Telangana on July 14. This cost-effective prosthetic, created by DRDO’s DRDL and AIIMS Bibinagar, serves as a key advancement under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
Designed to support loads up to 125 kgs, ADIDOC is available in three variants for different patient weights, providing a high-quality, affordable option compared to imported products priced around Rs two lakh. The production cost is expected to drop below Rs 20,000, significantly enhancing access for low-income amputees and reducing reliance on foreign technologies, thus promoting social and economic inclusion for individuals with disabilities in India.
