Golaghat (Assam), 13 July (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma reached Sarupathar on Sunday and took stock of the relief and rehabilitation situation in the flood-affected areas. He inspected the Shimlu Chapori flood relief camp in Barpathar and spent some time playing carrom with the children present there.
Reacting to a question about the alleged drone attack on the ULFA (I) camp, the Chief Minister clarified that the Assam Police has no role in this attack and this attack was not carried out from Assam soil.
Along with this, he also reacted to the proposed encroachment removal drive in Uriyamghat of Sarupathar assembly constituency and said that the government is working on a clear policy in this regard.
After the inspection, Chief Minister Dr. Sarma left for Morangi.
