MP Chandrashekhar have cornered the state government over the killing of Dalits
in Uttar Pradesh. Expressing concern over the atrocities on Dalits in Uttar
Pradesh, he said that Dalits' lives, honour and rights are being attacked in
Uttar Pradesh, and the government is sitting idle. Chandrashekhar Azad wrote on
his social media account on Sunday that the Dalit atrocities of the last four
days are a matter of great sorrow and deep concern. After this, he mentioned
the murders that took place at four different places in the state.
July
8, the brutal murder of village head Shambhu Dayal Valmiki in Etawah. Moreover,
on July 09, Dalit laborer Paramhans Prasad died under suspicious circumstances
in Deoria - according to the family members, Paramhans was brutally beaten up
when he demanded his wages, which led to his death.
Similarly,
on July 10, the body of a 21-year-old Dalit youth, Yogesh Ram, was found
hanging from a rope in a garbage dump located on the banks of the Mangai river
in Singhpur village under the Mehanagar police station area of Azamgarh. Many
injury marks were found on the body of the deceased. His private parts were
swollen. Cigarette burn marks were also found on the body. The deceased's feet
were touching the ground.
Apart
from this, the fourth case is from Firozabad. On 11th July, the body of 13 year
old Dalit boy Mohit, who had gone to see a fair in Tundla police station area
of Firozabad district, was found naked on the roof of a shop under construction
near the post office. Hands were tied with a shirt, throat was strangulated
with the same shirt, it is suspected that he was murdered after rape. Chandrashekhar
has demanded speedy justice in these cases and strict action against the culprits.
