Muzaffarnagar,

12 July (HS): The cyber police station has filed a charge against a social

media account for spreading false information regarding the Kanwar Yatra. The @khabarfast handle tweeted fake images

suggesting that Kanwariyas provoked violence along the yatra route. Authorities stated that no such instances had

happened. In a noteworthy move, a cyber

police station has filed a complaint against a social media account suspected

of distributing false information about the Kanwar Yatra, according to a police

officer. Satyanarayan Prajapat,

Superintendent of Police (City), identified the account @khabarfast as

responsible for publishing manipulated images purporting to indicate vandalism

occurrences during the 2024 yatra. The

posters falsely claimed that Kanwariyas caused disruption on the highway from

Muzaffarnagar to Roorkee this year, despite the fact that no such occurrences

have been documented, he noted.
