Bhubaneswar, 12 July (H.S.): Union Minister for Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, emphasized that ensuring the maximum participation of the youth in the development of the nation is a key priority of the government. He made this statement while inaugurating the 16th National Rozgar Mela held in Bhubaneswar on Saturday.
On this occasion, Mr. Pradhan distributed appointment letters to 204 newly recruited candidates selected in various departments under the Government of India. He congratulated the young appointees and their families on beginning a new chapter in their lives.
The Minister informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, through video conferencing, distributed appointment letters to over 51,000 newly recruited youth across various government departments and organizations. The Rozgar Mela was simultaneously held at 47 locations across the country, underlining the Prime Minister's commitment to prioritizing employment generation.
Highlighting the significance of such initiatives, Mr. Pradhan stated that India is a nation of youth, and empowering them remains a top priority of the Modi Government. The primary aim of the Rozgar Mela is to provide suitable opportunities for youth empowerment and to enhance their participation in the country’s development.
Expressing satisfaction, he noted that more than 10 lakh appointment letters have been distributed across India through various editions of the Rozgar Mela to date. He also thanked the Prime Minister for his continuous efforts towards employment generation.
Speaking further, the Union Minister said that India has now become the fourth-largest economy in the world, and due to the successful policies and welfare schemes of the Modi Government, approximately 25 crore people nationwide and nearly 1 crore people in Odisha have moved out of poverty and are now part of the development mainstream.
He highlighted the rise in digital transactions, capital investment, and India’s growing footprint in technology, innovation, and startups, noting that India is now being recognized as a global leader.
Mr. Pradhan stressed the need to leverage the innovation, skills, and leadership of India’s youth to transform the country into a developed nation by 2047.
