12 July (HS): “The placement of 'Maratha Military Landscapes', which represents
the Maratha emperors' fortification system, on the UNESCO World Heritage List
was a proud and joyful event. The UNESCO
World Heritage List now includes 12 forts built by our greatest king,
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Shivaji
Maharaj constructed these forts for Swarajya (a sovereign state),”
said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday, while reacting
over decision taken during the 47th
session of the World Heritage Committee (WHC) held in Paris, in which`Maratha
Military Landscapes' comprising forts of Salher, Shivneri, Lohgad, Khanderi ,
Raigad, Rajgad, Pratapgad, Suvarnadurg, Panhala, Vijay Durg and Sindhudurg in
Maharashtra and Gingee Fort in Tamil Nadu being featured in #UNESCOWorldHeritage.
Expressing
his excitement over the move, he shared a post on X, which reads: “The
inclusion of 12 forts associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the
#UNESCOWorldHeritage is a source of pride for every Indian. These forts represent the timeless values of
Hindu Swaraj, and they continue to encourage us to pursue our faith, culture,
and self-government. Shri @narendramodi,
the honorable Prime Minister, bestowed this distinction. India's cultural heritage is being appreciated
throughout the world thanks to his excellent leadership. Jai Bhavani, Jai Shivaji.”
In
a separate post on X, he extended birthday greeting to minister Dharmveer
Prajapati. The post shared by him, reads as follows: “Congratulations on your
birthday, Shri Dharmveer Prajapati Ji, my colleague in the Uttar Pradesh
government and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Home Guards and Civil
Defence! I pray to Lord Shri Ram for
your good health and a long and beautiful life.”
