Delhi, 12 July (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi organized the Rozgar Mela, distributing over 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in various Government departments via videoconferencing. He acknowledged the commencement of new responsibilities for these young individuals, highlighting a united goal of national service under the principle of Citizen First.

PM Modi emphasized India's unique demographic and democratic strengths, noting its position as home to the largest youth population and democracy, which renders significant potential for shaping the nation's domestic and global future. He described this youth power as India's greatest asset, with the government committed to transforming it into a catalyst for long-term prosperity.

While reflecting on a recent trip to five countries,PM Modi reiterated the importance of India's youth, citing agreements in critical sectors like defense, pharmaceuticals, and digital technology that aim to create opportunities for young Indians both domestically and internationally.

Addressing changing employment landscapes, he highlighted the evolution of job nature in the 21st century, showcasing India’s growing ecosystem of innovation and startups that encourages youth to aspire for greatness. The Prime Minister expressed pride in the new generation’s ambition and desire to innovate.

In effort to boost private sector employment, the government introduced the Employment Linked Incentive Scheme, offering ₹15,000 to young individuals starting their first job in the private sector, with a budget allocation of approximately ₹1 lakh crore aimed at creating about 3.5 crore new jobs.

PM Modi touted the manufacturing sector's transformative potential in national growth and employment, reiterating the success of the Make in India initiative. He noted that the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has generated over 1.1 million jobs and highlighted the remarkable growth in electronics manufacturing in India, which has expanded significantly in both scale and capability.

The Prime Minister also acknowledged India’s progress in defense manufacturing and the automobile sector, which has attracted considerable foreign direct investment (FDI). He pointed to significant welfare initiatives, revealing that over 90 crore citizens have benefitted from government schemes designed to generate employment opportunities, particularly in rural areas.

Flagship programs like the PM Awas Yojana, Swachh Bharat, and Ujjwala Yojana were cited as instrumental in providing employment, while newer initiatives such as the PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana are fostering job creation in renewable energy. Modi also discussed the Namo Drone Didi program that empowers rural women trained as drone pilots, exemplifying how government initiatives are enhancing participation in various sectors.

The Prime Minister further elaborated on the progress towards creating 3 crore Lakhpati Didis, with existing schemes enabling women to secure sustainable employment. He noted the PM SVANidhi scheme’s success in providing formal financial assistance to street vendors, highlighting its role in the integration of millions into economic activity.

PM Modi confirmed that the implementation of various schemes has successfully lifted 25 crore individuals out of poverty, emphasizing that employment opportunities are crucial for such transformation. He mentioned that global institutions like the World Bank now recognize India as one of the top countries for equality.

He portrayed the current development phase as a Mahayagya aimed at poverty eradication and employment generation, encouraging youth and new government recruits to contribute with enthusiasm and commitment.

In conclusion, he underscored the ethos of Nagrik Devo Bhava, enhancing the perception of public service while extending his heartfelt congratulations to the appointees for their future in public service.

The Rozgar Mela, conducted across 47 locations, reinforces the Prime Minister's focus on employment generation, having issued over 10 lakh recruitment letters thus far. The new recruits will be assuming roles across multiple ministries and departments, including Railways, Home Affairs, Health, and Labour.
