Srinagar, 11 July (H.S.): Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary today alleged that the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continue to work in coordination, blindly following directives from New Delhi.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of an “Entrepreneurship and Startup Meet” organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) in Pampore, where he was the chief guest, Choudhary accused the PDP of being solely responsible for the current political situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
“The PDP is the only political party responsible for the abrogation of special status and the downgrading of Jammu and Kashmir into two union territories. They were the ones who formed an alliance with the BJP and paved the way for all that is happening today. They should first answer for that before blaming anyone else,” he said.
He further alleged that the PDP and BJP are still in a covert coalition. “Every evening, PDP receives instructions from BJP in New Delhi on what to say the next morning-and they follow them. PDP is still part of BJP,” he claimed.
Choudhary said that restoration of statehood must be treated as a priority. “It is our basic right, and the National Conference-led government is working tirelessly for it,” he added.
The event aimed to raise awareness among youth about various entrepreneurship schemes and encourage them to pursue self-employment. “We want to channel the energy of our youth towards livelihood creation and keep them away from drug abuse. They just need a push, and we are doing exactly that,” Choudhary said.
During the programme, the Deputy CM inspected stalls set up by young entrepreneurs and assured them of full support. “These stalls reflect the potential of our youth. We want to be their support system, especially now that we have an elected government,” he said.
He also launched the e-DPR services to assist youth in establishing startups. Certificates were distributed among those who completed training under JKEDI schemes.
