Chennai, 11 July (H.S.): National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, speaking at the 62nd Convocation of IIT Madras, emphasized the importance of developing indigenous technology in India's defense strategy. Doval's remarks came in the context of Operation Sindoor, a recent military operation against Pakistan, where he expressed pride in the extensive use of indigenous content.
Doval detailed the operation's precision, stating that it targeted nine terrorist camps deep within Pakistan, avoiding border areas. He asserted that the operation was executed with meticulous accuracy, hitting all intended targets without missing any, and was completed in just 23 minutes. We decided to have 9 terrorist targets in the criss-cross of Pakistan, it was not in the border areas. We missed none. We hit nowhere else except that, Doval said, underscoring the operation's effectiveness.
The NSA challenged the narrative presented by foreign media, particularly the New York Times, regarding the operation's impact on Indian infrastructure. You tell me one photograph that shows any Indian damage done... They wrote things, New York Times... but the images showed 13 air bases of Pakistan before and after 10th May, Doval remarked, questioning the credibility of international reports that suggested damage on the Indian side.
Operation Sindoor was a response to a terrorist attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, aiming to dismantle terrorist infrastructure without causing collateral damage in India. Doval's speech also highlighted the strategic importance of indigenous technology, stating, We have to develop our indigenous technology. Mention of Sindoor was made here. We are really proud of how much of indigenous content was there.
The conflict between India and Pakistan, which included Operation Sindoor and Pakistan's Operation Bunyan um Marsoos, has been a focal point of international attention. Recent analyses and reports have scrutinized the military exchanges, with some questioning the bias in media coverage. Doval's comments at IIT Madras serve as a reminder of India's resolve to counter terrorism with precision and self-reliance in defense technology
