Delhi, 11 July (H.S.): NHAI has streamlined reporting procedures for 'loose FASTags' or tags-in-hand by Toll Collecting Agencies and Concessionaires to enhance operational efficiency. With initiatives like the Annual Pass System and Multi-Lane Free Flow (MLFF) tolling ahead, addressing loose FASTags is crucial for maintaining FASTag authenticity and reliability. Owners sometimes do not affix FASTags to vehicle windscreens, causing lane congestion, false chargebacks, misuse, and overall disruptions in the Electronic Toll Collection system, leading to delays and inconvenience for highway users.
NHAI has established a dedicated email for timely reporting of such FASTags and will take immediate action for blacklisting or hotlisting. With a FASTag penetration rate exceeding 98%, this effort aims to ensure smoother toll operations and enhance the travel experience for National Highway users.
