Lucknow,
11 July (HS): A multi-layered security and monitoring grid has been established
for the present Kanwar Yatra, with a significant troop deployment to protect
pilgrim safety and preserve peace and order. A network of 29,454 CCTV cameras
has been built along critical Kanwar roads and significant congregation places
around the state, and 395 high-tech drones, including anti-drones and tethered
drones, are giving real-time video feeds directly to the DGP headquarters,
according to a statement. Tethered drones, which are attached to a ground-based
power source, have a longer flight time and greater stability, making them
suitable for continuous monitoring in sensitive locations. A sophisticated
control center modeled after the Mahakumbh security setup has been created at
the DGP headquarters.
This
service is operational around the clock, providing continuous real-time
surveillance of the yatra and Shiv temples, ensuring a quick reaction to any
growing crisis.
A
special eight-person social media monitoring team is on high alert to
counteract misinformation and keep things peaceful, according to the statement.
This team is in charge of monitoring online platforms for rumors, inaccurate
information, and sensitive posts, and notifying district authorities so that
they may take immediate action and remove undesirable content.
A
separate control center staff monitors electronic media, UP-112 (emergency
services), and other communication lines. To guarantee perfect security, the
Uttar Pradesh government has deployed 587 gazetted officials, 2,040 inspectors,
13,520 sub-inspectors, and 39,965 constables from the police and paramilitary
units.
In
addition, 1,486 female sub-inspectors and 8,541 female constables are on the
ground to support law enforcement.The
security blanket is further enhanced by 50 PAC and central forces companies, as
well as 1,424 house guards.
A
WhatsApp group has been set up to facilitate effective collaboration with
adjacent states. According to the
statement, this group of authorities from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana,
Delhi, and Rajasthan will communicate real-time information on road conditions,
security updates, and crowd control methods to guarantee a seamless and safe
pilgrimage.
