Prayagraj,
11 July (HS): The re-birth anniversary of Uttar Pradesh's Industrial Development Minister and Prayagraj City South MLA, Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi, will be celebrated on July 12 as Vyapari Sahas Diwas throughout the state. Recognized for his unwavering support of entrepreneurs and the Vaishya community, Nandi has significantly contributed to transforming the industrial landscape of Uttar Pradesh under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's leadership. Various events organized by his supporters, traders, and entrepreneurs across districts will include Rudrabhishek, worship, and distribution of prasad, with special ceremonies taking place in local Shiva temples.
Nandi will conduct a Rudrabhishek Puja for Lord Bholenath at the historic Manokamna Purti Mandir in Bahadurganj, commencing at 10:00 am, with participation from numerous local entrepreneurs, BJP officials, and community members, all praying for his long life. His tenure in politics has been marked by his bold stance against criminals who exploited traders and the Vaishya community. Since becoming a cabinet minister in 2007, Nandi has fearlessly defended entrepreneurs against goons and mafias, facing violent backlash for his efforts. Notably, an attack involving an RDX bomb aimed at him occurred on July 12, 2010, injuring him severely and resulting in the death of a journalist and security personnel, while he was en route to the Shiva temple.
Nandi is celebrated as a compassionate leader who shares in the joys and sorrows of entrepreneurs not only within Uttar Pradesh but also in neighboring states. He has supported families affected by violence and tragedy, such as financially aiding victims of crime and offering assistance to those whose businesses suffered losses.
As the Industrial Development Minister, Nandi leverages his experience as a businessman to facilitate a nurturing environment for entrepreneurs, advocating for a seamless institutional and administrative framework. His commitment to realizing Uttar Pradesh's potential as a one trillion dollar economy has garnered praise, aligning with broader national growth goals under the guidance of PM Narendra Modi and CM Yogi Adityanath.
Born on April 23, 1974, in Bahadurganj, Allahabad, Nandi's life story is one of resilience against adversity. Despite humble beginnings—as the son of a postal worker and a mother who sewed at home—he triumphed over financial hardships. Rising to prominence in politics, he has won three terms as an MLA and served as a cabinet minister on three occasions, symbolizing determination and inspirational leadership for his constituents.
