New Delhi/Hyderabad, 11 July (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accepted the resignation of Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh, as communicated by national general secretary Arun Singh. In response to Raja Singh's earlier letter to Kishan Reddy, it was emphasized that his stated reasons for resignation were deemed irrelevant and inconsistent with the party's function, ideology, and principles, reflecting a clear disapproval of his stance.
The BJP’s acceptance letter criticized Singh's statements as irrelevant to the party’s ideology, affirming that his resignation was effective immediately as directed by National President J. P. Nadda. This resignation closely follows the appointment of N. Ramchander Rao as the new Telangana state unit president, which reportedly spurred Singh's departure.
Sources indicated Singh's disappointment with the leadership's choice, feeling overlooked despite strong support from grassroots workers. Known for his aggressive Hindutva stance, Singh had aspirations for the state president position and intended to align Telangana’s leadership with that of Uttar Pradesh’s Yogi Adityanath.
In a video, Singh outlined his vision for the party, proposing initiatives like a cow protection wing and intensified Hindutva campaigns while denouncing VIP culture. He emphasized that leadership should align with the BJP’s core values rather than personal image. While he expressed no personal animosity towards Rao or other leaders, he claimed an internal faction hindered his political advancement and undermined dedicated party workers.
Speculation about his future moves, whether forming a new political group or aligning with another right-wing outfit, looms as the BJP continues its internal restructuring with the 2028 elections in mind.
In his resignation statement, Singh reflected on his eleven years with the BJP, reiterating his commitment to Hindutva and the party’s vision, and asserting that his resignation was not motivated by a quest for power or position, but by his dedication to serve and protect Hindu interests and values.
