Jorhat (Assam), 10 July (HS): A woman was swept away by the strong current of the river while bathing in the Janji river in Moriani of Jorhat district.

Police said on Thursday that the woman named Nibha Gogoi of Rankham village was swept away by the strong current of the river while bathing in the Janji river. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police team reached the spot and the SDRF is continuously searching for the woman drowned in the river with the help of local people. Till the last information was received, the woman drowned in the river has not been found.
